The following is a PSA from 1983 that features four sentient pills that accidentally fall out of their bottle and proceed to sing a spirited little ditty (in harmony!) about the dangers of leaving medication lying around.
If you can’t (or don’t want to) watch it, the song begins thusly:
This is serious
We can make you delirious
You should have a healthy fear of us
Too much of us is dangerous
Simple and to the point. And...vaguely familiar. Actually, really familiar.
Probably because Busta Rhymes used it verbatim for his 1997 hit “Dangerous.”
To whit:
This is serious
We can make you delirious
You should have a healthy fear of us
Because too much of us is dangerous
At first I was going to take Busta Bust to task for ripping off singing medicine puppets, but this is Busta Rhymes we’re talking about, the most delightfully batshit crazy rapper ever, probably. So go ‘head Busta, bite any damned Muppet song you please.
